Dear friend,
Child Care Trust (CCT), is a non-profit, non-government organization (NGO), established on the 9th of May, 2000. Its conceptualization was simply borne out of our love for children.
It has been realized that most Nigerians are involved in grave violation of all rights of children. As a result, most children are engaged in hard labour at construction sites and in factories, many are held captive in commercial sexual exploitation and trafficking, many lack access to basic needs of life like food, clean water and shelter, while many also lack access to good education and self development which leads to self actualization in the individual.
Some of these children are engaged in hawking and the worst hit are those who are challenged with disabilities, who sometimes are locked up in the house or thrown out on the streets to depend on begging in order to make ends meet..
Having seen the plight of Nigerian children, it became pertinent to embark on this pet Project, the Child Care Trust, which is fast gaining grounds with many impacts on children and the people of Nigeria.
CCT Complex which is a resource center, is located in the serene valleys of the rocky bwari area council of Abuja-Nigeria. The center also plays host to challenged children from all over Nigeria. These children gained admission at the center without regards to their background, race, nationality and creed.
We serve as a national resource, linking up with other organizations abroad and in Nigeria, as we assist to impact on smaller organizations, through advocacy and capacity building, to assist in the mobilization of the civil society in Nigeria so that they can enhance the perfect promotion sustainable policies on child care development initiatives and children management in Nigeria.
Now that the National Assembly in Nigeria has passed the Child Rights Bill, it is our candid appeal to the government, parents and all stakeholders in the child development sector to ensure that observance of the basic rights of child, especially challenged ones who need more support are met.
Thank you.
Our mission is to provide a range of services for the holistic development of children in Nigeria. We offer a conducive environment for children with disabilities to achieve their personal best. The CCT is also a leader in advocating for legislative/regulatory conditions that work for people especially children and women with disabilities and special needs and their families.
